Kennecott Copper Mine!

For a week the Kennecott Copper Mine was offering free admittance to anyone who wanted to visit. We decided to take them up on their offer. We went last year and the kids loved seeing the huge mine and the gigantic trucks! The open pit mine is one of the largest in the world. It can be seen from outer space!
The equipment they use is enormous!
These are the giant tires used on the trucks. Each tire costs $25,000.00 and there are 6 tires per truck.
The Visitor's center has alot of information on the mine and what the copper can be used for. Gage loved lighting up the display!
Olivia, Nate, and Ryan checking out more displays.
Nate apparently thought he needed a closer view!

Oh, my kids loved it there! Please let me know when the next time is for free visits. We'd love that!
