Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Five years ago we decided that we really wanted the Leprechaun's pot of gold and we were going to have to catch him in order to get it. We've tried different traps every year to get him and have yet to be successful! This year we found instructions for a trap that looked like a large leprechaun hat. Apparently leprechaun's have big ego's and the website claimed the leprechaun would just have to find out what was up with the hat!
Haley and Jaydee cut the felt to resemble the gold buckle! We finished the trap and then put warning signs all around it! Although Gage wanted the leprechaun to know that he thought he was nice and cute!
We've tried lucky charms, root beer, and gold coins in the past. This year we used skittles as the bait! When the leprechaun climbed the ladder and went for the skittles the trap door would cause him to fall into our hat! Checking the trap before bed!
Practicing their faces for in the morning when they see the leprechaun!
What we woke up to! A treasure chest full of green sticky treats, green juice boxes,
mini root beers, rolos, and green waffles!
Gage is convinced that the leprechaun fixed them breakfast because of the nice note he left the little green guy!
The leprechaun left green streamers all over where he caused mischief. The kids clothes were strewn all over the house! They had a fun time trying to find their green, so they wouldn't get pinched!
Checking the trap!
No leprechaun, but we did get his hat! It looks just like the big one we made! The kids think he had to stand on his hat to get out of ours!
Even though we didn't catch the leprechaun, we did get to enjoy the spoils he left behind: Green Milk, green waffles, green drinking water, he even turned the toilet water green!
My two little mischief makers! Maybe they are leprechauns in disguise!
I think the face says it all!
To keep the holiday hair going, we did a shamrock in Jaydee's hair!
We had a great time this year & think we just need to do a little more research for a trap next year! Wish us luck!!

That's hilarious! What a great trap! Tell the kids they did a great job and I'm amazed it didn't work! You are such a fun mom!
