Party until the Cows come Home!

This weekend we headed to Utah for a Birthday Party Marathon and as the saying goes "We partied until the cows came home!"We started the marathon off on Friday with a party for Scott's dad. Jay Wallace Neilson was born on April 6, 1929. We had a open house in Bluffdale to celebrate his 80th!
Scott is the baby of 9. Here is just part of the whole Neilson Clan!
Our family celebrating with Dad & Mom Neilson
Our next pit stop on our marathon was at the Living Aquarium in Sandy for Gavin's 4th Birthday. The Sills are good friends of ours that live up here in Wyoming. Gavin wanted to go touch a sting ray so we met them over there. The group consisted of Tage & Trey (cousins), Ryan, Mackenzie (sister), Gage, Jaydee, and the birthday boy, Gavin!
The aquarium had a fun boat you could board and pretend that you were taking an adventure. Here Ryan is taking us out to sea!
This eel was so long. I have to say it freaked me out!
Can you spot the toad in this picture. It was well camouflaged in the tank!
These were one of my favorites! You always hear about piranha's but I had never seen one until now.
Now we actually got to see them! There were many more cool and interesting fish and creatures to see. They actually asked that you didn't use flash photography so I didn't take any more pics. The kids loved seeing all of the different fish, especially "Nemo"!
The sting ray!
All of my kids were big fans of the Crocidile Hunter. When they heard that we were going to be able to touch a sting ray they freaked out thinking they could be killed by it!! We were finally able to convince Ryan that he wouldn't be hurt. Just as he started to feel it, the sting ray began to swim away. Ryan jumped about 10 feet in the air. It was pretty funny! I thought that it would be hard and slippery and it was actually soft and slimy. Almost like touching goo - weird!

We had a great time at the Aquarium. Thanks Gavin for having us to your party!

The final party of the weekend was Saturday night. Scott's older brother Jay turned 50 on
April 3rd. We surprised him with a Fifties party since he was turning 50 and was born in 1959! He thought he got out of having a party since Dad Neilson's open house was actually on Jay's birthday, but you know us - any excuse for a party and we'll do it! We always meet after Priesthood Conference at Marci's house (Scott's sister) for Ice cream Sundae's. This year we decorated the house like a diner and all dressed up in our fifties attire! We definitely were able to surprise him!
Uncle Jay with Jaydee & Ryan
Greaser, Jay with Pink Lady, Jaydee!

McKell, Ashlee, Mary, Jaydee, Grandma Neilson
The Greasers!
Grandpa Neilson, Nate, Scott
The Cutest Greaser of them All!

We had a bubble blowing contest with Double Bubble. This was the best I could do!
The kids did drag racing with '57 Chevys! Ryan "blew" away the competition and was the champion drag racer!

We had a very fun weekend but were glad for some down time on Sunday. I can officially say that I'm all partied out and trust me that is a hard feat to accomplish. Usually my motto is bring on the birthday parties, but I think over the last month we have definitely filled my quota! Thanks Marci for all of your hard work this weekend and for always being able to open your home for us to celebrate in! Go put up your feet for a minute or two atleast!! :D
