This weekend was so action packed I don't even know where to begin so I'll just start from the beginning! On Friday it was the kids last day of swimming. We headed over to the pool to check out what they had learned this summer!
Funny Story: Leading up to swimming Gage was so excited and couldn't wait to go to lessons that is until we got there. He didn't want to get in the water and started to cry. Nothing I said or did would get him in the pool. My friend, Joni even tried going and standing on the stairs in the water with him but he just wasn't going for it. Finally the other preschool teacher said if you don't mind the tears, I don't. I handed Gage off to her and headed for the lobby. He screamed so loud you could hear him clear out there. Later I learned from another friend that he let his teacher know that he was not happy to be there and every time she would have him do something his response was "I hate swimming pools!", all the while doing everything she asked! Go figure!!! On our way out he saw the gumball machine and wanted one. A light went on.....I'm definitely not above bribing my 4 year old! The next day he was perfect! No tears, no screaming, and he did everything he was asked! I love those 25 cent gumballs!
We had a full house Friday night. Grandma & Grandpa Neilson, Miki, Marci, Cayden, Ashlee, McKell, Nate, Dakota, Sequoya, Theoryn, & Savannah all came to stay with us! We got up early to head over to the parade. We have a tradition of having a float in the parade. This year the theme was Our Pioneers, Past, Present and Forever. Our float embraced this with:

After the parade we headed to the park for the BBQ. Then at 1:00 it was time for Ryan's baptism. He asked his Grandpa Neilson to baptize him. What a special day. We are so proud of Ryan and his decision to become a member of the church. He has such a sweet spirit and is such a big helper. We are so lucky to have him in our family!
Grandma Harris talked on faith. It was the same talk she gave at my baptism. It brought back fond memories from my special day. Jaydee gave a sweet talk on the Holy Ghost. She was so brave and did a great job. Scott then confirmed Ryan. I'm so grateful for a husband who has the Priesthood and for the example he is to my children!
After the baptism we headed back to my parent's house for a dinner in Ryan's honor. While we got everything ready we had quite the activities going. There were pony rides, 
four wheelers to ride,
and horse rides. We even got Grandma Neilson up on the horse! We finished the day off with the Ranch rodeo! It was a very fun, eventful day. Thanks to everyone who took the time to come up and share it with us!
Sunday was definitely a day to relax, unwind, and celebrate Nate's birthday! He turned 1 on the 24th but with everything going on we waited until Sunday to break out the cake. Scott baked him a chocolate train cake! At first he wasn't so sure about it but.......
it didn't take long
for him
to get the hang of it and look like this!!

We had a great time having everyone on the float and throwing candy. We can't wait to do it again next year!
