After bringing Nate home from the hospital we noticed over the weekend he was looking a little yellow. On Monday we went to Evanston to do some shopping and just had the feeling we should pop into the Doctor's office to have him looked at by Dr. DePalma. She had us go and have a billi test done and the results came back at 20.3. Unfortunately for Slade that is considered critical and we had to be admitted to the hospital. What an awful time that was...he had to be poked 6 different times before they were finally able to get the I.V. in his little head. They put the eye protectants on and then covered all of it with a hat. As a mom it was one of the longest nights of my life. Thankfully by the next afternoon after hours on the lights and much fluid, his numbers started to come down and we were able to come home. We are very grateful for good doctors and modern medicine!
